AFRICAN TECH TEAM LAUNCHES ‘PROJECT UNVEIL’ TO HUNT DIGITAL TRAPS IN EVERYDAY SOFTWARE Local cybersecurity group **Cyberstorm.mu** and its partners have officially launched **Project Unveil**, an initiative powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) to hunt down hidden digital traps in free, public software. Most of today’s apps, websites, and government systems rely on free, shared building blocks called “open-source software.” Because anyone can share code in these public libraries, hackers often hide malicious traps—or malware—inside them. When local businesses or developers build apps using these compromised blocks, the hidden trap sneaks inside, opening a secret backdoor for scammers to steal data. Project Unveil uses AI tools to scan these global software libraries around the clock, spotting hidden traps before they can infect apps used by everyday citizens.
